Our History

A&H Wayside Furniture was founded in 1971, in Reidsville, NC to serve the local

furniture consumer, and to provide the out of state buyer with furniture savings

that couldn't be achieved by consumers outside of North Carolina.  It was started

by Curtis Apple & Tim Hinkle.  Mr. Hinkle purchased the remainder of the company

from Mr. Apple in the late '80s and began an expansion project placing stores in High

Point, NC.  The entire Hinkle family still runs the business today.

Today A&H Wayside services clients throughout the fifty US states, Canada, Mexico

and abroad.  With the qualified design staff and easy access to over 300 manufacturing

brands, the company can satisfy every furniture and home accessory need.  A&H offers

everything from low-end to the high-end furniture in terms of price and quality, and has

completed many individual client projects abroad, including Mexico, the Middle-East, Europe,

Australia and the Carribean.  "There isn't a furniture project we cannot handle", says

Tim Hinkle, President of A&H.  "We take pride in working with every customer that walks into

our store, or contacts us through the phone or internet.  We can provide that individual looking

for just a mattress, lamp or a mirror, then turn around and sell 200 bedrooms, entertainment

consoles and a truckload of accessories to a chain of Hotels."

A&H has two full-service retail stores in High Point and Reidsville, and a clearance center

on Tate St. in High Point, that focuses solely on market samples, closeouts, and other clearance

furniture usually purchased from many different manufacturers at deep wholesale discounts.

According to Tim Hinkle, "If we can't find what it is you're looking for, then it probably doesn't

exist, and if it doesn't exist then we know somebody who can make it."
